The next project we interviewed is Faraland, another winning project from #MVBII. Faraland is a role-playing strategy war game for Android and iOS, developed on BSC.

Spotlight on Faraland

Can you introduce us to Faraland? Can you explain your project to those unfamiliar with it?

Faraland is a role-playing strategy war game for Android and iOS, developed on blockchain with NFT technology by MoonKnight Labs. The players control NFT characters of 7 races: Humans, Orcs, Elves, Fairies, Dragonborns, Angels and Demons — each with different abilities and skills, to fight with other players in a universe called Faraland. Each hero is unique and is indistinguishable from other NFT. With a lot of exciting use cases, users can use their NFT heroes in many unique ways, from equipping them with powerful weapons or shining armors to having them engage in various thrilling battles. We also focus on the "play to earn" mechanism which makes Faraland far beyond the traditional game. You can reinvest in the game, make your hero stronger, or cash out for fiat.

Faraland’s vision is to become the biggest turn-based strategy game on Blockchain in general and Binance Smart Chain in particular.

When was the idea behind Faraland born, and what led to it?

Faraland is inspired by Warcraft, Pokemon and Final Fantasy. Our childhood is deeply linked to these games and our dream is to make our own fantasy themed game one day and now it’s the time. We have been planning to make this game for three years and have already finished the novel of Faraland story. We will soon release a comic of Faraland also.

Faraland is a large world with different races, each race has its own strengths, each character is unique. In Faraland, users will be warriors with brave hearts, fighting for the peace of mankind.

Our core team is based in Vietnam. We have 6 co-founders and 14 team members.

Why did you decide to build on Binance Smart Chain? Can you tell us a word or two about you security?

Binance Smart Chain has emerged as one of the best blockchain out there with fastest transaction speed and low cost fee, which is very suitable for dApps and gaming projects like Faraland. It is also very easy to integrate with since it supports Smart Contract built from Solidity - one of the most common languages to the blockchain right now.

Regarding to the security of our smart contracts, we always put the safety of our users at top, so every smart contracts made by us are carefully audited by top professional team including Certik and MoonPool, the audit reports can be found here in our public repository: https://github.com/faraland/audit-reports

What are the main advantages of Faraland compared to competitors?

Not many blockchain games are real “games”. Some are gambling, some are just staking games. In general, almost all gaming projects in the blockchain lack creativity with repeatable gameplay. Faraland's advantage is that we are doing a true game for the true gamers who really want to play and get a reward for the time they spend playing the game. Faraland gameplay is easy to get on but hard to master. With a lot of races, element, there are thousands of ways to build a squad and enjoy Faraland. We have egg easter, hidden mission… All the things that a gamer needs for a game that they can spend a thousand of hours on without getting tired.

We're focusing on the "Play to earn" mechanism that makes it different from traditional games. NFT heroes can be used as playable characters in the game and by completing missions, they can earn FARA tokens as rewards. FARA Token can be used to stake for farming Hero level, buy loot boxes for equipable items and upgrade them to the next tier.

Other advantages compared to other projects is Faraland is a well planned game with a deep game storyline based on the Faraland novel. We also have plans to release the Faraland comic in 2022.

What does the future hold for Faraland?

As our roadmap, equipment and gacha system will be released at the end of July. Equipment can be used for NFT Heroes and increasing the stats of Heroes. Next is a game expedition on Aug-Sep 2021. It's a kind of text game, user can send their hero doing missions and earn rewards. More heroes, more reward and more % user can do a successful mission. Have a hidden mission btw. This game is inspired by the Final Fantasy Tactics mission. The first mobile game release in Dec 2021 as our roadmap. Mobile games including PVP, PVE arena. Game demo will be released in Oct 2021.
